The Cal Neva Resort Casino has a long and interesting history. The resort was built in 1926 by San Francisco industrialist, Robert Sherman as a country retreat and guesthouse for his friends and clients. The property was immediately popular with celebrities wanting to avoid the public eye. Sherman sold the resort to Frank Blitz, the "Duke of Nevada" in 1928 and shortly thereafter the hotel burnt to the ground. Blitz rebuilt the current resort in just 30 days, with workmen laboring 24 hours a day.
Singer, Frank Sinatra owned the resort from 1960 to 1968 and added the Celebrity showroom and a helipad. His "Rat Pack" friends performed regularly at the resort and frequent guests included Marilyn Monroe and other Hollywood stars. |

The Cal Neva Resort Spa Casino offers cabins, chalets, and guest rooms in its nine-story lakeview tower. Some rooms offers walk-out lakeview balconies.
Cabins and chalets are open during the summer and fall seasons. Cabins are separate units with private front patios. Chalets have two bedrooms, one bath, a private front porch, and a fireplace.
All units include a coffeemaker, wireless Internet access, a hair dryer, an iron and ironing board, and cable TV. Non-smoking rooms are available.
