Cyber Speedway

Cyber Speedway

Very few people have the privilege of actually getting behind the wheel of a NASCAR stock car and experiencing the thrills of driving one. At the NASCAR Café in the Sahara Hotel & Casino complex, visitors can enjoy the next best thing in the form of realistic racecar simulation with the Las Vegas Cyber Speedway. The experience has been described as so authentic that visitors will be forgiven for thinking that they are driving a real stock car.

The 35,000 square feet Cyber Speedway offers action from the word go, when visitors mount one of sixteen hydraulic motion bases and step into their NASCAR vehicle which is 7/8 the size of a real car. A giant wrap around screen measuring no less than 20 feet projects some of the most authentic looking images found in an attraction such as this.

Drivers take their pick between two courses – the Las Vegas Motor Speedway or the famous Las Vegas Strip. After being given the green light, engines are started and ‘away they go’. Drivers compete with seven others as they pursue the coveted red checkered flag around their chosen NASCAR race course, reaching speeds of up to an amazing 220 miles per hour.

Each NASCAR stock car comes equipped with an impressive 16 speaker, 15 channel sound system that is sure to hammer home all the sounds and experiences of the real thing. The stock cars come equipped with all the right features, including the ability to customize no less than ten performance enhancers, including transmission suspension, aerodynamic wing angles, braking response and car tire pressure. Drivers can choose to drive an automatic car or try their luck with a stick shift. As part of the authentic experience, drivers will even be able to issue instructions to the pit crew as they race their laps!

Thanks to the hydraulic bases, drivers can actually feel and experience everything as if they are sitting in a racing car, from flying when they hit a bump in the road, to feeling the rush of speed as they press their foot on the gas and sit back in their seats. At the end of the race, drivers are awarded an individualized performance record as a souvenir to take home.

The Cyber Speedway is part of a larger complex that is home to several other action-filled attractions, including the breathtaking, heart-stopping Speed – the Ride roller coaster that drops passengers from a dizzying 220 feet height. There are also several other interactive rides and 3D theaters for the ultimate simulated fun.

The Cyber Speedway is open seven days a week (Sunday to Thursday from 11 am to 8 pm and Fridays and Saturdays until 10 pm.) Simulated rides cost a nominal fee per person and visitors can also purchase all day passes or package deals that combine the Cyber Speedway with Speed – the Ride.

With auto racing becoming such a popular spectator sport in the United States, as well as the rest of the world, it is not surprising that the Cyber Speedway is one of Las Vegas’ most attractive hotspots.
