Exclusive to Caesar's Palace, The Red Piano does for Elton John what no concert tour or entertainment gig has done for him before: stripped of the flamboyant costumes and exaggerated appearance, this show portrays the artist and his music as a masterpiece, worked out and performed before the audience's very eyes. As the show begins, Elton John seats himself behind a large, bright red Baby Grand piano, and begins to weave a sensory masterpiece, right out of thin air, and never looks back. As the cinema-sized theatre screen backdrop provides visual representations of the feelings and meanings behind the music, Elton John's timelessness ripples through the audience, and his charisma electrifies the air.
Songs range from the old to the new, and include favorites such as Daniel, Candle in the Wind, Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me, Rocket Man, and Benny and the Jets.
With star-studded support, Elton John's genius and talent shine through in the best way. David LaChappelle, famed photographer and choreographer, serves as the designer and director for The Red Piano. Elton John's band is also on-hand to further enhance the music: Davey Johnstone on guitar, Guy Babylon on keyboards, Bob Birch on bass guitar, John Mahon on percussion and Nigel Olsson on drums.
Whether show-goers have seen Elton John in concert several times, or experience Elton John in person for the first time, The Red Piano surpasses all expectations with resounding success, from dramatic start to grand-finale finish.
