The Grand Canyon National Park is over 1.2 million acres of wonderful photo opportunities. This breathtaking canyon spans an area 18 miles wide and 277 miles long. A diverse mix of plant and wildlife make their home here with two major ecosystems to support them. On the south rim you’ll find the arid land of the desert with few plants and animals that have adapted to the climate. On the north rim, life is abundant due to the rains which fall there. The Colorado River is the main cause of this great chasm. Over billions of years it has cut through the rock and sandstone forming the valleys that are 6,000 feet at its deepest level, giving us one of the greatest of the Seven Wonders of the World .
