| Designed by Casey O’Callaghan and opened in 1945, the Las Vegas Golf Club is home to one of the oldest courses in the valley. Golf legend Monte Money scored a 58 on the course, the lowest course record of any par 72 course in Las Vegas . Known for its affordable prices, relaxing round of golf, and friendly service, the golf club is a favorite amongst locals and visitors alike. Each year the course plays host to the Southern Nevada Golf Association's Las Vegas City Amateur. The club has recently undergone $5 million in improvements, including a new clubhouse and course upgrades. Amenities at the club include a restaurant, a lighted range, and the Nike Golf School.
The player-friendly course allows for an easy and forgiving round of golf. Bunkerless fairways are open and the greens are slightly undulated much making them easy to manage. The first three holes are easy scoring opportunities. The first hole is a 311-yard par-4 with three bunkers long and right of the green. The second hole is the longest on the course. The 503-yard, slight dogleg-left par 5 is guarded by pine trees but the fairway is open and the green is protected by a bunker left. The third hole, a 98-yard par-3 is the course's shortest hole. The green is guarded in the front by a pond and four bunkers protect the back. Six par 4's play less than 380 yards while three play more than 400 yards. Four short par 5's, all between 458 and 503 yards are also easy scoring opportunities for experienced and novice golfers alike. The sixth hole plays 189 yards with two bunkers front. The No. 1 handicap hole is the 438-yard, dogleg-left eighth hole. The only hazards are a few pine trees that line the fairway. The 458-yard ninth hole plays to a narrow green heavily bunkered in the front. However, a good drive can set up an eagle opportunity. The dogleg-left, 461-yard, par-5 13th opens up to a wide fairway and then to a green positioned between bunkers. The 460-yard, par-5 15th is a straightforward play to an unprotected green. The 17 th hole plays 211 yards with two front bunkers protecting the green.
