The Las Vegas Pauite Wolf Golf Resort is home to three Pete Dye-designed championship courses, Snow Mountain , Sun Mountain , and Wolf. Located northwest of the Las Vegas Strip at the base of the striking Spring Mountains , there are no housing developments or traffic noises to interfere with the serene and relaxing golf outing that the resort has to offer visitors. As a matter of fact, the only sounds that you will hear come from the desert birds that live in the mirage of colorful desert flowers and plants that surround each isolated hole. The resort not only provides a challenging game of golf but also beautiful desert scenery to enhance your experience. Regardless of which course you decide to play at, you will notice ducks wandering in the glistening ponds, bobcats and coyotes sauntering through the valley, and rabbits and chipmunks hopping in the brush. In addition, the resort provides an award-winning, expansive clubhouse to cater to all of your needs off the course. The inviting 50,000 square foot clubhouse includes a 3,800 square foot restaurant and lounge featuring a fireplace area and a separate tobacco room as well as large banquet rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook Snow Mountain ’s 18 th green and the picturesque mountains. In 2004, VegasGolfer recognized the resort for providing the “Best Overall Experience.”
In November 2001, the Wolf course became the third course to open at the resort. Measuring 7,604 yards, the tournament-designed layout is the longest course in Nevada . Although it has an intimidating rating/slope of 76.3/149, five sets of tees help players manage. However, if the wind is blowing the course will challenge even the most skilled players. The par-3, no. 8 measures 206 yards. Balls hit short or right will be caught by a wolf print of sand bunkers. Shots hit long and right will wander off the green into a waste bunker. The par-3, no. 15th plays to an island green similar to Dye's renowned 17th hole at the TPC at Sawgrass. In 2004, VegasGolfer readers named the Wolf course the “Best Upscale Course” in the valley.
There are two practice facilities for players to enhance their game. Each facility features a driving range, practice putting green, and pitching chipping area.
