On October 15, 1993, after eighteen months of construction, the Luxor Hotel opened. The hotel’s central feature, the thirty story pyramid, features more than 26,000 glass plates totalling more than eleven acres of glass. The idea for the Luxor Hotel came from ancient Egypt’s beautiful architecture, mysterious history and fascinating culture. The most extraordinary tribute to this is the “Beam of Light” which shines each night from the tip of the pyramid and is the world’s brightest beam of light.

The Luxor Las Vegas Resort Hotel & Casino is made up of three separate buildings; two identical step-pyramid style towers and the thirty story black glass pyramid. Nestled within these spectacular buildings are 4,408 rooms with an Egyptian theme and everything you need for a great stay. Each standard room features air conditioning, clock radio, cable television, pay-per-view movies and telephone with voice mail. Hair dryers and iron/ironing boards are available upon request.
