Airport Information

Logistics
McCarran Airport is conveniently located 2km from the Las Vegas Strip, making it accessible by any form of transport.

Taxis: Several taxi companies service McCarran Airport and cabs are located outside Exit 1 and Exit 5 on the east side of the baggage claim area. Airport personnel are present on the taxi curbs in order to assist arriving and departing voyageurs. Taxis require a $1.20 charge on all rides leaving the airport complex and do not accept credit cards. It should also be noted that there is a 5-person limit (including children and babies) allowed per taxi.

Public Transport: CAT bus services run from the airport to downtown / central Las Vegas via routes 108 and 109. A number of shuttle services and limousines are also available from the north and west sides of the airport, outside of Exit 8-14. These shuttles serve both inner-city rides and further destinations.

Car Rental: Car rental facilities are available from within the airport in the baggage claim area. Various off-airport car rental companies are contactable by a free telephone service. Car rental companies will offer a courtesy shuttle service to and from the airport terminal to the car rental area within the airport .

Parking
McCarran Airport offers several parking options for those travelers arriving and leaving with their own vehicle. As part of McCarran's aspiration towards top-class service, all the parking lots are patrolled 24/7 by a uniformed bikers who will be on hand to answer general queries, as well as assist with car trouble.

Short Term Garage: Two short term parking garages are located on Level 2M and Level 1. Short term parking is limited to a maximum of 3 hours, while handicapped spaces are limited to four hours. Parking is payable in advance with parking meters, which only accepts quarters. Change machines are located in the parking areas.

Long Term Garage: Long term parking facilities are demarcated with a green triangle and are located on Level 1M, 2M, 3, 4, 5 and 6. Payment is made upon exit at a toll booth = $3 for the first hour, $1 per hour thereafter. A daily maximum rate is $12 (with a 30 day max period). All major credit cards are accepted as forms of payment for long term parking.

Valet Parking: Valet parking is demarcated by a red triangle and situated on Level 2 of the public parking garage. This service is available 24/7 and costs $6 minimum, with $1 per additional hour. A daily charge cap is $16.

Passenger Pick Up: The passenger pick up area is located across from the pedestrian bridge which exits the baggage claim section. Cars may not park in this area and it is designated for immediate pick up of passengers only.

Passenger Drop Off: The drop off area at McCarran's is located outside the Departures building. Only immediate drop off of passengers is allowed and unattended vehicles will be heavily fined.

Economy Parking: McCarran Airport recently opened an economy parking lot which caters for short and long stay vehicles at a lower fee, and is serviced by a shuttle to and from the main airport buildings. Travelers using the economy parking facilities should add an extra 30 minutes onto their travel time.

Airport Facilites

Information: Information desks are located all around the airport. Travelers can also dial 0 from any courtesy phone in order to receive assistance. The staff at the information desks is also available to provide language translation when necessary, as well as paging facilities.

Lost and Found: A lost and found service is located on Level 2 in Terminal 1. The airport does not provide locker services for security reasons.

Money Exchange: A branch of Wells Fargo Bank is located within the airport and provides full banking facilities and foreign exchange services. In addition there are several ATMs around the airport.

Communication: Phone banks are situated around the airport and offer telephone, fax and internet services. These machines generally accept phone and credit cards.

Post Office: A post office is located on Level 2.

Speed Check: Light-weight travelers who are flying with only hand luggage can use the "Speed Check" system to check in and print their own boarding pass.

Shoe Shine: Available in the airport.

Nursing Services: Nurses at the first aid station will administer vaccinations, blood pressure checks, primary first aid and other required services.

Business Facilities: A VIP lounge is located in Terminal 2, and the Information staff can assist with translations.

Food & Restaurants

A wide range of food and beverage options are on offer at McCarran Airport. The include beer houses, coffee shops, BBQ eateries, breakfast cafes, a sports bar, fast-food restaurants, diners, pizzerias and more. Vending machines are also scattered around the airport for those in search of an instant snack.

Shopping

There are abundant shopping facilities in McCarran Airport complex, spread around the different terminals. The wide range of shops will cater to every traveler's needs - from a quick forgotten present to luggage replacement.

Some of the shops include a flower shop, accessories shop, several gift shops, collectors shop, book store, chocolatiers, jewelry store, branded clothing shops, snack food stands, watch sales, gaming supply store, duty free shops, a perfumery, sunglasses store, toiletry shops, candy store and a T-shirt gift shop.

Information about the different stores, their locations and supplies can be obtained from the airport's Information Desk. Travelers will find that they will not be lacking in any facilities and that the airport vast range of stores will satisfy all their buying needs.
