Mount Charleston is a year-round getaway for both residents and visitors to Las Vegas. There are several hiking trails and a modest ski area. The mountain can be seen from parts of the Las Vegas Strip when looking toward the west, is snowcapped over half of the year. Mount Charleston has almost more than 150 picnic areas and over 200 camp sites.
