The Primm Valley Golf Club features two award-winning courses designed by renowned golf architect Tom Fazio. The Lakes Course and Desert Course are rated in the top 100 public courses in the United States . Located 35 minutes south of Las Vegas , both courses offer plenty of challenges and natural scenic views that make it tough to decide which course to visit. In 1997, the 6,945 yard, par-71 Lakes Course was the first of the two designs to open for play. Golf Digest recognized the course as one of the top new courses that same year. As its name would suggest, the course is complete with an extensive lakes and river system that comes into play on 11 holes. Tall pine trees, acres of green rye grass, and towering mountains are other features that make players forget they are playing in the desert. Although generous fairways and large greens make the course player-friendly, the undulating, bunkered greens and an abundance of water hazards make it challenging as well. The 530 yard, par-5 No. 2 is one of the most difficult holes on the course. It plays around a huge lake, but you can reach it in two if the second shot is accurate. Water left of the green and bunkers front punish errant shots.
Golf professionals are on hand to help you improve your game at the 22-acre ESPN Golf School affiliated practice facility. Amenities include a double-ended circular driving range, target greens, chipping and pitching greens with sand bunkers, and practice putting greens. The use of the facility is complimentary with your green fees prior to your round. Also on the Primm Valley site is a top-notch golf academy. Various instructional packages are available including individual and group lessons, playing lessons, golf clinics, seminars, and all facets of club repairing. A private lesson tee and three practice greens with chipping areas and bunkers are part of purchased instructional packages.
Designed to compliment the two Primm golf courses, the clubhouse accommodates all of visitors needs. The full-service restaurant and lounge serves breakfast and lunch daily to satisfy any taste buds. The patio which overlooks the Lakes par-4 16 th is also available for seating. Box lunches and catered meals can also be arranged for groups.
