Primm Hotels

Primm Nevada is located right on I-15 at the California/Nevada state line, about 40 miles southwest of Las Vegas. It is the first town visitors from Los Angeles and southern California come to that offers legalized gambling. Consequently, the community has blossomed into a small resort area. The town straddles the highway and a monorail transports visitors from one side to the other.

Primm boasts three resort casinos. Because of its nearness to Las Vegas, it often serves as an overflow destination during large Las Vegas conventions as well as a resort in its own right.

· Buffalo Bills - a 1242-room resort, owned by the MGM/Mirage Corporation. This western-themed hotel boasts a buffalo-shaped swimming pool and a large - 46,000-square foot -- casino. One of the highlights of Buffalo Bills is the "Desperado" roller coaster, which is 225-feet tall and reaches speeds of up to 95 mph.

· Whiskey Pete's - this 777-room hotel has a large swimming pool and a casino with the area's only sports book parlor.

· Primm Valley Resort - located next to the Fashion Outlets of Las Vegas, this 624-room hotel has a swimming pool, small casino, and has the bullet-ridden car in which Bonnie and Clyde last rode on display.

Primm is an outlet shopper's paradise. The town boasts two outlet malls with over 100 stores each. Among the most popular of these are the Versace outlet, Polo Ralph Lauren factory store, and Last Call from Neiman Marcus.

Nevada has big plans for the small community of Primm. A new Las Vegas airport to complement Las Vegas' McCarran airport is proposed for just north of Primm. Construction on the Ivanpah Valley Airport is scheduled to begin in 2010 with a proposed completion date of 2017.

In addition, a 269-mile maglev train is proposed that would connect Anaheim with Las Vegas. The train would run through Primm with a stop in the city as well as at the new airport beyond.
