The Sands Regency Casino Hotel was opened in 1972 and was the realization of the dream of Pete Cladianos Sr. and his son, Pete Cladianos Jr. After owning several businesses including bars, motels, hotels and more, the Greek immigrant Pete Cladianos Sr. dreamt of owning his own casino.

The two Petes won their hard fought battle and finally opened the doors to the Sands which became one of Reno ’s largest and most successful Hotel Casinos.
