Winnemucca, also known as the Crossroads of the West, is a charmingly classic city in the north of Nevada, home to approximately 7,200 people.

The Winnemucca area was first occupied by beaver trappers around 1830 and a few years later the westbound wagons following the Humboldt Trail, the trading post on the southern bank of Mary’s River began to be more occupied. By 1863, the area’s settlement was named Winnemucca in honor of the Paiute chief in the region. Two areas of the settlement divided by the river and the railroad finally joined to become a hub of shipping and commercial activity, and in 1872 the town managed to win the county seat.
