Exhibits and Features
The main attraction at the Aquarium is a tank that's filled with 117,000 gallons of saltwater. This installation is home to a variety of exotic fish from the Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean, Caribbean Sea and other seas. Schools of fish swim in harmony with stingrays and other aquatic creatures that thrive in warm, saline water. The bottom surface of the main aquarium is decorated with natural and man-made rock formations and corals. Click to book your Big Bus Tours.
Throughout the day, beautiful ladies dressed as mermaids swim inside the Aquarium. These charismatic divers bring popular legends and myths to life. You could also view daily feeding shows that are done by experienced marine biologists. These friendly staff members will gladly answer questions about the residents of the aquarium.
Connected to the Silverton Hotel, the Bass Pro Shops is home to several other aquariums that entertain shoppers and visitors. Containing approximately 18,000 gallons of freshwater, the largest tank hosts a large colony of koi fish. This aquarium has a theme that's inspired by the scenic Red Rock Formations in Nevada and other parts of the American Southwest.
The Bass Pro Shops at the Silverton includes several other aquariums that display freshwater species, ranging from carp to bass. You can even see some turtle ducks swim in the aquariums at this enormous sport shop. Perhaps you'll also glance at the elusive sturgeon, a prehistoric fish that's valued for its premium eggs.
What's the best part of the Aquarium Las Vegas and the Bass Pro Shops aquariums? They're all free. That's right, you don't ever have to spend a single penny to admire marine species in this resort. If you're interested in helping the marine environment, then ask about the Save Our Beach Foundation that's sponsored by the aquarium.
Donations help this non-profit organization clean up beaches throughout the United States of America and other countries. The Save Our Beach Foundation also hires volunteers who want to actively participate in exciting missions with other enthusiastic citizens.
